JULY 2020

As you are aware, Governor Murphy announced the return of outdoor organized sports in New Jersey under the guidelines put forth by CDC and the New Jersey Department of Health.

The initial announcement gave the Recreation Department hope that we would be able to salvage our 2020 spring softball season and start our summer travel schedule.  Unfortunately, once these State guidelines were reviewed it became apparent that these guidelines put an overwhelming amount of liability on our volunteers, parents and participants.  As a result, the decision was made not to have an organized sports season this summer.

Although lesser in numbers, the COVID-19 virus is still active in our area (is increasing in other areas of our country) and our priority continues to be the health and safety of our residents, our volunteers and our children.

Although our fields are closed to organized activities, they are open for your families to enjoy.  We understand the importance of physical activity and mental health and we encourage your family to get outside and use our fields and open spaces to get exercise and fresh air.

We ask that you please practice social distancing, be responsible and respectful to others.  Working together, we can help ensure the continued suppression of the virus and the increased possibility of the return to organized sports this fall.

Thank you for your continued cooperation.
